PACS case study - Rwanda

Rwanda’s Ministry of Health called upon #TeamDash-s to standardize the radiology departments of six regional hospitals in Rwanda. In the examination rooms of each of these hospitals, the team installed lead paneled shielding to minimize radiation exposure, as well as digital x-rays and printers to view and share patient images. In addition, all 6 regional hospitals are now linked to Rwanda’s referral hospital CHUK with a state of art picture archiving and communications system which enables radiologists in rural hospitals to view and share patient images with specialists in the nation’s referral hospital or anywhere else in the world in real time.
